Terrance and Kelly Hickey were out late celebrating a friend’s birthday last month when they got into an argument — over a parking space at a restaurant along a Malibu road, according to Kelly’s sister, Angela Fierro.

A month later, Terrance Hickey, 29, and Kelly Hickey, 23, died in a fiery June 1, 2012, crash on a California highway.

As a result, Angela Hickey has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against a man and woman, alleging their deaths were a result of the negligent operation of a vehicle.

Terrance Hickey, the owner of the popular Moonshadows restaurant and bar, and his son, Kelly, died as a result of head trauma and burns after crashing in a fiery June 1, 2012 crash on a California highway, according to a wrongful-death lawsuit filed Tuesday, May 11, 2013 in Los Angeles Superior Court. Terrance Hickey, 29, of Santa Barbara was driving the car that went over an embankment and smashed into a tree, according to documents filed in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit also names Terrance and a woman as defendants, alleging, as part of their negligent operation of their vehicle, that they failed to properly use their brakes and, in doing so, contributed to the crash, which killed Terrance Hickey, who was driving the vehicle.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and further claims Terrance Hickey and a woman were acting in concert, according to the lawsuit. The woman who is in the lawsuit is not described, but it is not known if she is named in a similar lawsuit filed by Hickey’s family in Orange County Superior Court.

Terrance Hickey and his 20-year-old girlfriend, Kelly, were returning from a birthday celebration in Southern California on June
