Letters to the Editor: Readers call on Councilwoman Nury Martinez to resign
I am writing to express my deep displeasure with your letter to the editor regarding this issue. I am appalled that I have to write to you this way.
I have sat in committees with you and you have always acted in an honorable manner. I have never been in a situation where you questioned my decisions, or made any suggestion to change what I was doing.
I am not sure if I should have to apologize for writing to you, because I have made no threats or accusations against you or your office. I am simply stating my views, my feelings, my frustrations.
I have sat in a position where I knew the decisions of staff and I was in a position to do what that staff did. I have made this point to a number of people.
I feel that you are a person with integrity and I expect you to continue to uphold the same standards. I just wanted to clarify that it’s not up to me to decide, it’s up to Council President Pascacio and the staff.
I am very sorry to say that you have gone too far in this matter. I will not tolerate anything that would diminish your integrity.
Your job is to represent the entire city, not just a handful of people. If you continue to put politics and agenda ahead of the people of Santa Ana, if you continue to put yourself above the laws and ordinances of our city, I will have no choice but to write letters to the editor.
I am going to continue to write until people begin to hold you accountable.
There are a lot of people who want this administration gone and the way the city is running, what little progress we have made has been destroyed.
So for the time being, we have to sit back and wait.
But I will continue to write to you until you change your ways.
We will sit back and wait, but eventually the leadership of the City of Santa Ana is going to have no choice but to step in and do something about your actions.
Don’t write letters to the editor until you are ready to explain yourself
