Musk mocks panicked users fearing the death of Twitter: ‘More alive than ever!’
Twitter CEO Sheryl Sandberg has been battling for her life over the past few months. The company’s popular microblogging service has recently seen its user base plummet after the announcement of a controversial redesign that many called a disaster. The company’s stock took a severe plunge after its fall and its revenue took a hit as well.
And that hasn’t deterred Sandberg, who has been working ever since the new design was announced for months before the redesign was sent to users. Sandberg is pushing for Twitter to keep up with the mobile-first mentality that Google introduced last year. She wanted to “make Twitter more connected and personal as a mobile product… to give us more of what we already enjoy on the phone.”
But that wasn’t enough for users who were offended by the new design, especially those who wanted to use Twitter on their smartphones. Instead of supporting those users, Twitter sent an apology to them and the company has been struggling, with the same old design still on people’s hands.
It was enough for former Facebook and Google executive Twitter chief executive officer Jack Dorsey to step in to the company’s board and make some executive decisions to increase profits and keep users happy.
